University Community Development Corp. benefits TIA's new USO | Community Spirit
Tampa, Florida-- The University Area Community Development Corporation, Inc. (UACDC) donated $1,000 to United Service Organizations (USO) to help make possible a new facility at Tampa International Airport (TIA), which will provide a "home away from home" for the 300,000 actively serving military personnel traveling through TIA annually.
The 1,134 square foot facility on the second level ticket area provides a quiet, relaxing and comfortable area for the military, military retirees, veterans, and their families.
"UACDC is happy to support the USO and their efforts to welcome and provide comfort to our veterans and their families," said Dan Jurman, UACDC Executive Director and CEO in a release about the donation. "We hope in the future to do even more for our veterans, and are actively seeking funding to build new accessible, energy efficient homes as well as new programs especially for veterans to encourage them to settle in the University Area Community. As we build partnerships with dozens of non-profits and service organizations to transform our community into a model of prosperity, we would welcome the leadership and dedication of our returning heroes."
