Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough County Commissioners will break ground on the expansion of the Westchase Recreation Center today at noon.
The $2 million expansion adds a new gymnasium which will include 10,000 square feet of basketball, volleyball and other indoor activity space.
This is good news for parents whose children participate in after-school programs, because the county says the expansion will allow them to expand the Rec2Six after-school and summer programs.
The project is being paid for by Community Investment Tax and is slated for completion in September 2013.
