Tampa, Florida-- Westshore is in the midst of a building boom, and a big name has bought into the hype.

PriceWaterhouseCoopers is moving into its futuristic, 10-story office space in the MetWest International development.  More than 2,000 people will work at the 250,000-square-foot building after vacating Tampa Bay Park on MLK Blvd.

Mayor Buckhorn looking to bring free Wi-Fi to urban parks

Tampa, Florida -- Visitors to Tampa's urban parks may soon be able to enjoy the great outdoors and stay connected without having to use up any minutes on their cellular plans.

On Tuesday, Mayor Buckhorn released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a provider who can offer free, outdoor wireless internet access in Tampa's urban parks.

"Wi-Fi will be a draw, particularly for the thousands of visitors who come down to the parks throughout our urban core, and a great amenity for the residents who live around them," said Mayor Bob Buckhorn.

Emergency electric bill payment help offered in Hillsborough

Hillsborough County, Florida-- Are you struggling to make ends meet? If so, you may qualify for financial assistance from the Family and Aging Services Department's Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program for Hillsborough County Residents, also known as LIHEAP. 

Program coordinators say LIHEAP is a federally funded initiative that helps low-income residents with payments on their delinquent electric bills.

Woman killed trying to cross Courtney Campbell Causeway

Tampa, Florida -- Tampa Police detectives are continuing to investigate a tragic accident that took place on the Courtney Campbell Causeway late Saturday night.

Police say 46-year-old Lynne Novello and her husband left Hogan's Beach and started walking back to their hotel room across the street at the Westin. Novello was walking ahead of her husband and she attempted to run across the Causeway alone.  

Tampa priest celebrates 60 years of service

TAMPA, Florida (AP) - A Tampa priest is celebrating the 60th anniversary of his ordination.

Monsignor Laurence Higgins will be honored Saturday, following a 4 p.m. mass at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Tampa.

The Tampa Tribune reports Higgins stepped down from his role as senior pastor in 2007. But he didn't slow down.

Last month 83-year-old Higgins received an honorary law degree from Ava Maria School of Law in Naples.
