Early Voting allows Hillsborough to reduce polling locations, precincts

Hillsborough County, Florida-- The Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office (HCSEO) received approval from the Department of Justice to realignm and consolidate voting precincts and polling places in response to the legislative redistricting.

Under the plan, the number of precincts was reduced from 383 to 347, and the polling locations from 285 to 270, HCSEO announced in a recent release.

"With an increasing number of voters in Hillsborough County casting their ballots prior to Election Day, consolidating precincts not only enables us to save money for the county, but it also allows for the better utilization of resources for the other voting methods that are quickly gaining popularity - Vote By Mail and Early Vote," said Earl Lennard, Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections in the release.

In mid to late June, all registered voters in Hillsborough County were a sent new voter information card that lists the voter's district, precinct, polling place and other election-related information. The office also mailed county voters a sample ballot which also shows their polling place.

HCSEO encourages anyone with questions to contact the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Office at (813) 744-5900, or visit any of the Supervisor of Elections four offices.
